At a statuesque 72 pounds, he’s a certified gentle giant with a presence that says “majestic,” and a personality that says “hi, I love you already.”

Before making his grand entrance into rescue life, Anubis was living solo in a cemetery, cared for by kindhearted humans who made sure he was fed. Which means yes—he’s technically risen from the dead… socially. And instead of coming back brooding and mysterious, he returned as a sweet, friendly, tail-wagging ray of sunshine. Honestly, unexpected, but we’re not questioning it.

Anubis is what happens when you take a big, strong dog and give him the temperament of your nicest friend. He loves everyone he meets, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and approaches life with an easygoing charm that makes him incredibly hard not to adore. He’s social without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and just the right amount of goofy to keep things interesting.
