Tongki is an adorable adult Korean Jindo Mix girl who's part of a group of four very lucky pups who will be making their way from South Korea all the way to the Pacific Northwest within the week of September 28th!

Please join us in welcoming Tongki, Ted, Suho, and Jia to Oregon! These four deserving dogs are getting a fresh start, thanks to our trusted rescue partner, whose dedicated team on the ground in South Korea works tirelessly to rescue dogs from overcrowded shelters and difficult, often heartbreaking circumstances. Through their partnership with rescues like Street Dog Hero, these lucky pups are being given the opportunity to find the loving forever homes they deserve. Their journey to Oregon is no small adventure! Traveling halfway around the world is a lot for any dog, and we want to make sure each of them has the time, space, and patience they need to rest, decompress, and adjust to their new surroundings. Once they arrive, Tongki, Ted, Suho, and Jia will begin settling into temporary foster care or, when the right match comes along, a potential adoptive home. We'll continue getting to know each of them as they become more comfortable and confident in their new lives.

For anyone considering welcoming one of these special dogs into their family, patience and understanding will be key. Their personalities may take time to fully emerge, and allowing them to settle in at their own pace will help set everyone up for success. Brushing up on your Korean commands won't hurt either! This medium sized, spitz type dog has a distinctive double coat that sheds seasonally. Known for their independent nature, Jindos require early socialization and firm, consistent training. With a strong prey drive and territorial instincts, they excel as hunters and watchdogs. Their deep bonds with their owners make them loving companions, albeit not suitable for inexperienced owners.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments.
