Arlo (MR23-03) - Husky and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Peyton, Colorado

Arlo is a handsome young Alaskan Husky who turned 3 on 3/3. Is 3 your lucky number? If so, check out this sweet and fun boy! He loves people and dogs! He is 58 pounds of love and thinks that is a perfect size for a lap dog. He loves to play and be pet, scratched and brushed. He thinks all dogs are great and he loves to play with them but he could be an only dog with play opportunities made available. He thinks pools are awesome and loves water play (in the inside play yard currently but we believe he will love a kiddie pool in your yard as well).

He is smart and food motivated. He quickly learned to approach people for snacks. He has no difficulty going up to them alone and he walks great on a leash too. He has lots of energy and needs a yard to expend that energy. He needs a 6 foot high fence as he somewhere learned the high jump and can fly over a 4 foot high fence. He loves both zoomies and snuggles. Arlo is being monitored for seizure activity and is taking some meds. He has not had a seizure for a few weeks now but potential adopters should know this could be a concern that might needs lifelong meds.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
