Russet is a six-year-old brown Hound mix with warm dark eyes, expressive ears, a greying muzzle, and a smile so genuine and joyful it is impossible not to return. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services on June 27th and the people who know him say it simply - great dog. At 34 lbs he is that perfect not too big and not too small size that works beautifully in almost any living situation, from a cozy apartment to a house with a yard.

Russet has good leash manners and sits nicely for treats - still working on taking them gently, but that is a small thing in the grand scheme of what a great dog he is. He is settled, confident, and fully himself at six years old - past the unpredictable puppy years and right in the sweet spot of doghood.

A six-year-old dog with good manners, a great disposition, and that much joy to offer is a rare and wonderful thing. Russet is not waiting to become a great dog - he already is one, right now, today, and he deserves a home that recognizes that without hesitation.
