Sprocket - Hound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Fort Collins, Colorado

Sprocket is a fun loving, loyal gentleman who cares about his pack family. He has a easygoing temperament and REALLY enjoys being outside, walking/running, and playing ball in the yard with you! When there's high levels of paying going on around him, he will respond accordingly. If you want him to stop barking or addressing goings on, just show him his boundary area by blocking him with your person in a CALM assertive manner until he gets it. Doing so in all interaction with him will only secure his respect. He loves to make himself comfortable with his family by getting on the bed and couch. If that's not your preference, simply let him know and he'll settle for a close spot on the floor. He does have obvious arthritis in his right shoulder which is prevalent after he's been laying down or after running or walking for awhile so more short walks and even shorter high impact play like running seems to help him recover a bit better than less long walks. Sprocket can be a bit temperamental when it comes to what he likes to eat but once you find something he likes he's fine. I honestly think it has more to do with his feelings while settling into his new environment than merely being a picky eater, because now he eats a lot more variety than he did. Because he recently had dental work, I still soften his dry food with warm water and he seems to like it that way at least for now. He takes his prescription medication very easily when rolled up in a slice of pepperoni (he really loves pepperonis)😉 He takes his baths like a champ, he enjoys the message setting; slow and soothing. He's such a good guy and will give you back every ounce of care bestowed to him.
