Hound and Labrador Retriever Dogs Available for Adoption in Shorewood, Illinois

Nico is an 5 month old neutered male and weighs 40 lbs. Poor Nico has lived a rough life so far. He was unwanted and likely neglected by his owner and ended up in an overcrowded shelter on the list to be euthanized. We knew we had to safe this sweet baby. Despite all this, Nico loves every human he meets and absolutely adores children. Nico is warming up to his foster dog siblings. Nico is now learning what it feels like to be safe and loved. Nico's life has been anything but easy; We can change that. Will you be the one to turn his life around and give Nico the happy ending he deserves?

Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption.

If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.
