Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption in Shorewood, Illinois

Meet Gabby!
Gabby is a ~3.5 month old mixed breed puppy with a soft, velvety coat and a personality that's equal parts sassy and sweet. She's a playful little girl who loves running laps and wrestling with her sister, Izzy, who may be bigger in size, but not in personality.

When she's not playing, Gabby is all about the simple joys: soaking up the sun, rolling around in the grass, and finding the perfect spot to lounge. She's making progress on learning to walk on a leash and recently discovered stairs, which she now proudly conquers. Like many puppies, Gabby enjoys having a teething toy to keep her happy and occupied.

Gabby does a good job at settling down (she puts up a little fight for only a few minutes) and sleeps soundly through the night (about 7 hours!) to recharge for her next day of adventures. She currently sleeps in a playpen and tolerates a crate for car rides. She's great with children and warms up to other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for a variety of households. We don't have information on how she does with cats.



Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption.

If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.
