DOG'S DESCRIPTION: From a Drain Pipe to a Dream Home – Nala's Story Isn't Finished Yet!
Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart before you even meet them, and sweet Nala is one of those special souls. This beautiful Great Pyrenees mix has already overcome more than any dog should have to. Rescued from a drain pipe in Alabama, Nala's life took a wonderful turn when caring people stepped in to give her the second chance she deserved. Now she's making her way north with one goal in mind—finding the loving forever family she's been waiting for.
Nala is a friendly, playful girl who weighs about 50 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion for adventures, backyard playtime, and cozy evenings at home. She loves people and would thrive with a family that's ready to include her in their daily lives and spend time helping her continue to blossom.
You may notice that Nala's coat is still growing back. She's recovering beautifully from demodectic mange, and every day her gorgeous fluffy fur returns a little more. What Nala wants most is a family to love. One that will see past the patches of missing fur and recognize the joyful, affectionate, resilient dog underneath. She has survived hardship, embraced her second chance, and is ready to fill a home with companionship and unconditional love.
If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a heart as beautiful as her future coat, apply today – Nala is waiting to meet you!

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
