Layla - Great Pyrenees and Sheep Dog Dog for Adoption in Princeton, Massachusetts

Layla is a wonderful foster dog with a huge personality, tons of energy, and a serious love for adventure! She is happiest when she's running, exploring, playing, and enjoying life alongside her people and canine friends.

Her origin shows that although she was a stray and had been abandoned, it turns out she got lucky one day when a wonderful man found her and took her into his home - Kyle noticed she had some issues meeting dogs and needed some help with her energy levels, so he personally paid for her to go two weeks of training at Champion Farm in Memphis - a wonderful spot for dogs to learn how to be dogs. She graduated with flying colors.

She's now living with her friends on a farm with lots of room to run and play, and she's thriving. Kyle feels that with 12 other dogs already, she deserves more one-on-one, and that's what he's hoping for.

Layla is leash-trained and off-leash trained, loves being outdoors, and has the energy to keep up with an active lifestyle. One of her favorite things is running alongside the ATV, where she can really stretch her legs and burn off some energy. She also loves running and playing with big packs of dogs, so she would love a home with a confident canine companion or multiple dogs who enjoy an active playmate.

She's also a great travel buddy and absolutely loves car rides. If you're someone who likes taking your dog along for hikes, adventures, outings, and exploring, Layla would be thrilled to come along!

And while Layla loves her adventures, she is equally affectionate and people-oriented. She is friendly with adults, loves children, and enjoys being part of whatever her people are doing.

The biggest consideration with Layla is her activity level. She won't be happy with a couple of short walks and some backyard time. She needs a family who will consistently provide substantial exercise, opportunities to run and explore, socialization, and mental stimulation. Acreage would be wonderful, but the right active family without acreage could also be a great fit if they are committed to giving her the exercise and outlets she needs.

Layla currently lives with other dogs - it does take proper introductions for her to meet new dogs. It's not super complicated, but you must go slow and let her and the other dogs adjust to each other before throwing them in a yard to play. We can provide guidance with this.

Layla thrives when she has a job to do, somewhere to go, dogs to play with, and people who want her right there beside them. She isn't looking for a sedentary lifestyle -- she's looking for a family that wants an energetic, social, fun-loving adventure buddy.
