Cillian - Great Pyrenees Dog for Adoption in Nashville, Tennessee

Cillian is a 2-year-old, 60ish-pound Great Pyrenees mix who is quite possibly the prettiest man in the room. He is drop-dead gorgeous, with eyelashes to die for and eyeliner skills that put the rest of us to shame. Fortunately, he has a personality to match, so we can forgive him for winning the genetic lottery.

Cillian has no known enemies and approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who has never had a bad day. He loves people, loves other dogs and is generally delighted with the entire concept of being alive. He would do beautifully with another dog who appreciates a good romp and can tolerate the occasional bout of young dog bounce.

Somewhere along the way, someone taught Cillian to give hugs. We are currently working on convincing him that all four feet belong on the floor and that no one really needs an in-your-face reminder that their eyeliner will never be as good as his. Cillian is also quite pleased to meet cats. The cats have not universally shared his enthusiasm so dog-savvy cats only, please. Kids over 8 would probably be best given the bounce, unless your child is a lumberjack in training, then OK.

This is an active, happy, outgoing young dog who needs a fenced yard and people who actually enjoy leaving the house. He would make a fabulous hiking companion and is practically tailor-made for the Subaru lifestyle. Give him a trail, some fresh air and a human who enjoys an adventure, and he is in heaven. He loves toys, food, being petted and hearing that he is a very good boy, preferably several dozen times a day. He dislikes fireworks, the collected works of William Faulkner and the designated hitter rule. Smart boy.

Cillian is a genuinely lovely dog with a huge personality and an even bigger enthusiasm for life. He is affectionate, social, playful and eager to be included in whatever his people are doing. If your idea of exercise involves lifting the remote control, I would suggest at another dog. But if you want a gorgeous, joyful companion who will happily accompany you on adventures and then come home to collect his rightful share of affection, Cillian is your guy. He has the looks, the personality and the eyelashes. All he needs now is someone who can keep up.
