Meet Duke!
Duke is a 10-month-old Goldendoodle weighing about 58 pounds, and just like his sister Daisy, he found himself in need of a new beginning when their owner was no longer able to care for them. While the transition has been a big change for him, Duke is handling it with quiet resilience and a heart full of potential.
Duke can be a little unsure at first and may take some time to warm up to new people and surroundings, but with patience and consistency, he begins to show his sweet and gentle nature. He's looking for a calm, understanding home that will allow him to settle in at his own pace and build confidence in a safe, loving environment.
He has done well with other dogs and would likely enjoy the companionship of a friendly, well-balanced canine sibling. Duke has not shown any ill intent toward cats and could potentially live with one given proper introductions. Due to his shy and sensitive personality, he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his boundaries as he adjusts.
Duke is crate trained and has a solid understanding of house manners, making him a great candidate for a family willing to continue guiding him as he grows. He does not have much experience walking on a leash yet, so a home with a physically fenced yard will be essential for his safety and comfort while he learns and gains confidence.
He hasn't shown much interest in toys so far, but that's likely due to the recent changes in his life—once he feels secure, we expect his personality to continue to blossom. As a Goldendoodle, Duke will require regular grooming to maintain his coat and overall comfort.
Duke is the kind of dog who will form a deep, meaningful bond with his people once he feels safe. He may not come in with confidence, but he will grow into an incredibly loyal and loving companion for the family willing to invest the time and care he deserves. If you're ready to help Duke find his footing and show him what forever truly means, he's ready to meet you.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
