DESCRIPTION

MEET GUNTHER!

Gunther is a 5-month-old, 10lb Miniature Schnauzer mix (our best guess) with soulful eyes and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet little guy has already experienced more change than a puppy ever should—but he's ready to put the past behind him and find a family to call his own.

Gunther was originally adopted in Florida, but life took an unexpected turn for his owner when he had to relocate to Michigan to care for his elderly father. As much as he loved him, Gunther's playful puppy energy proved to be too much in a home with a senior citizen, where he became a tripping hazard. It was a heartbreaking and selfless decision to surrender him so he could have the opportunity to live in a home better suited for his needs.

Now safe in rescue, Gunther is exactly what you'd expect from a young puppy—sweet, curious, and full of life. He's doing ver well with his house manners and is working to perfect his leash walking skills, but with time, practice, and positive reinforcement, he'll catch on quickly; he will not do well on a tether system.

Gunther has done well with other dogs who are tolerant of puppy antics and playful energy, we do not recommend him for a home with senior canine friends. He's even met a cat and didn't seem to mind! Because of his age and enthusiasm, he would likely do best with dog-savvy children who understand how to interact appropriately with a young, energetic pup. Due to his sometimes vocal nature, Gunther is not a good fit for tighrly knit living environment, such as an apartment, mobile home or condo.

This little guy is looking for an active home ready to embrace all things puppy—training, socialization, and plenty of playtime. In return, Gunther promises endless affection, laughter, and a lifetime of companionship.

If you're ready for puppy kisses, zoomies, and a loyal best friend, Gunther might just be your perfect match. He's ready to find a family to love him furever!

Gunther is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Scheduled for neuter surgery.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
