Buddy 8-25-2026 - Golden Retriever Dog for Adoption in Louisville, Kentucky

Buddy is an active 4 year old, male Golden Retriever weighing about 80ish lbs, who is being surrendered as he is too much for the senior dogs in his home. He is still very playful and full of energy, so his new home will need to have a dog that can keep up with his activity level.

Buddy is house-trained and crate-trained and sleeps in it at night and while his people would be away. He will need work on leash manners as he has never really been made to walk on leash. This boy is said to be an escape artist, so his family will need to be committed to giving him the supervised exercise and direction he needs to be a good and tired boy.

Our GRRAND volunteer who hangs with Buddy in the field tells us: "There's a new Buddy in GRRAND and he is one amazing dog and a very handsome Golden Retriever. His fur has a fabulous sheen in the sunlight. Buddy wants to be your 'best buddy' as he enjoys sitting with you and being petted, but will also walk with you. Buddy is very proud of any ball he finds or catches and will show it off to anyone. This guy is a great dog and is ready for his forever home that will give him lots of activity and fun things to do together."

Buddy is said to have lived with cats, but GRRAND has not cat tested him.
