There's nothing quite like young dog energy and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These very loving and sweet young dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them scheduled for euthanasia in a high-kill shelter that's run out of space.
Arri is believed to be a Golden Retriever. Farfel's does not DNA test rescue dogs, so this is just an educated guess by Texas veterinarians. All we know for certain is that this gorgeous girl is irresistible.
Arri, at just about 9 months old and 52 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 55 - 60 lbs when full-grown) was facing the end of her life before it ever really began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this very sweet girl with the great temperament..they rescued Arri just in time to spare her life.
From Arri's foster:
"Oh she is so friendly and sweet as can be She loves other dogs and people! Plays a LOT with my dogs! Arri is so wonderful and would love to have another playful, sweet dog to run /play like crazy with.
Our wonderful Arri is undeniably beautiful. Her scruffy coat is currently shelter-sad and in need of grooming. Once she is on a regular protocol of excellent nutrition and loving care, her coat will return to the beauty that her breed is famous for. Farfel's has done extensive research on the best food for both great health and longevity in dogs. Fresh, human grade food has won hands down. Chi Dog (chidog.com) is our choice for the life of your dog!
Arri is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also so loving and cuddly. Our snuggly girl would be very excited to be a couch or bed dog to snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day.
Since Arri is just a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Arri will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through positive reinforcement / force-free Obedience Classes. This is a regimen of training classes that will make a profound difference in a dog's behavior and her relationship with her people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.
We feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Arri out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this important experience. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area.
We're open to Arri finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. Arri seems to enjoy her relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create a dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in both a dog and child's development.
Arri will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to support our work for for a euthanasia - free future in the canine population
Arri will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 7/18/2026 Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
PLEASE NOTE If you're truly interested in adopting Arri, please be sure to submit our Farfel's adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
