Meet Cypress. Born at a local shelter, he was in need of a foster home that knew the exuberant nature of a GSD. Farm life, kids and an another active dog is a great environment for this boy. His 'little girl' has renamed him Bear. Ha.... and he's fluffy like one. He imprinted on her immediately and she's working with him on training even.

Currently in a foster home, he's learning all things puppy - crate training, housebreaking, and more! And he's smart this boy! So we are looking for a home with Shepherd experience, and understand his exercise needs.

This puppy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. He will need more puppy shots at 16 weeks, including rabies.

Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your childrens toys and maybe even the furniture. But... once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions!

The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Marysville.
Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sundays to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We dont ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
