FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Libby. This cutie patootie is just the sweetest little girl. Like many of our rescue dogs, we have no history on them but a screen shot of a rehoming Facebook Post, this is true for Libby. Our vet said she's about a year old. She weighs 22# and as you can see - is a low rider. That's why we are guessing she's a Dachshund mix. Maybe a little beagle? Maybe corgi? Hard to say.
Currently in a foster home, Libby is ADORED. The family gave some thought as to adopting her - because she fits into their home so well. But Libby is a little smaller for their life style, so she's ready for her forever home! Her foster brother has been a great help and they are super sweet together. We think another friendly dog would be fun for Libby. She has met several children and seems to be a fan!
While she's not a huge fan of her crate, she does quiet down after a bit. On the flip side, she appears to be housebroken, not having a single accident since she arrived. Good Girl! Her fosters say she's great on a leash and good with strangers. Big dogs are a little intimidating - especially if they are too much energy all at once. Oh... and she LOVES to cuddle!!!
This young lady is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She's heart worm negative.
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Libby is being fostered in the Seattle area.
Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
