Meet Stevie Nicks!
Meet Stevie Nicks, an adorable 13-week-old, 16-pound German Shepherd mix with a sweet personality, plenty of puppy confidence, and lots of love to give. Stevie is wonderful with other dogs and has been great with children, including kids as young as 3 years old. She is soft, cuddly, friendly, and doesn’t shy away from meeting others.
Stevie has all the fun energy you’d expect from a puppy! She loves playing with her toys, finding sticks in the yard, digging, running around, and learning how to play fetch. She plays well with her foster brother and sister and happily shares her toys with them. While she enjoys having canine friends, Stevie does not need another dog in her forever home and could be adopted as an only dog or into a home with other dogs.
Once Stevie has burned off her puppy energy, her affectionate side really shines. If she isn’t playing, you’ll often find her near your feet or close by outside. When she gets tired, she’ll settle right beside you, or even between your legs. At the end of the day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and snuggling on the couch with her humans.
Stevie is also a smart, confident little girl who is eager to learn. She is quickly picking up simple commands such as “sit.” She has already learned to use the doggy door to go outside, thanks to her foster brother and sister, and they are now helping teach her to ring a bell when she needs to go out. Potty training is going very well, but Stevie is still a young puppy and needs regular trips outside while she develops better bladder control.
She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate and stay there while her humans are out of the house. Stevie is also working on leash training in the yard and currently does best when walked with a harness. She currently enjoys a fenced-in yard, but a fenced yard is not required as long as her family can provide her with daily walks, exercise, and opportunities to play.
For car rides, Stevie will sit nicely in the car, although she sometimes gets a little nauseous. Her foster family hopes this will improve as she gets older and becomes more accustomed to riding in the car.
Stevie has not been tested with cats, so her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. She does, however, live happily with a Chihuahua/Beagle mix who has a very independent, almost cat-like personality, but of course, that isn't quite the same as living with an actual cat.
And then there’s one of Stevie’s adorable little quirks, she likes to drink her water while lying down. She seems to be more of a “sip and enjoy” kind of gal.
Stevie Nicks is an amazing puppy, playful, affectionate, confident, smart, and incredibly sweet. She has so much personality packed into her little 16-pound body and is sure to melt your heart. She is currently being fostered in Philadelphia and is ready to find a family to continue teaching her, playing with her, and, most importantly, giving her all the snuggles she loves.
