Shell is a handsome 9-year-old German Shepherd with a classic black-and-tan coat and plenty of life left to live! This senior gentleman came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past, but we’re excited to help him find a loving home for his next chapter.

Don’t let his age fool you — Shell has shown a good amount of energy while in our care and may enjoy adventures, walks, and spending quality time with his people. He can occasionally pull on the leash, so he may benefit from a little guidance as he settles into his new routine.

Shell has recently been neutered and is ready to start looking for his forever family! Since his history is unknown, his future adopters should be prepared to give him time to adjust and get to know his personality.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
