Bailey - German Shepherd Dog and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Houston, Texas

Meet Bailey!

This adorable little girl somehow found herself on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Houston. When her time was running out, a few wonderful people who had been keeping an eye on her realized just how close she was to losing her life and stepped up to foster. Just like that, Bailey was safe.

Now onto the best part: Bailey herself.

Bailey is estimated to be around 6–7 months old and weighs about 30 pounds. She is truly the sweetest little girl and, for a puppy, surprisingly calm and easygoing.

She loves going for walks and exploring, although the world can still be a little spooky sometimes. At home, she is perfectly happy relaxing on her bed with a toy or bone to chew on. She’s doing amazing with potty training, great with kennel training, and is overall just a really good girl.

Of course, she is still a puppy, so if you leave something particularly delicious within reach on the counter, Bailey may decide it was obviously meant for her. We can’t blame her for trying.

Bailey has also met kids and does fabulously with them. Rather than bouncing and jumping all over them like many puppies her age, she keeps all four paws on the ground. She may sneak in a couple of face kisses when she gets excited, but overall she is gentle, sweet, and incredibly well-mannered.

She really is such a wonderfully well-rounded young dog, and we think she is going to grow into an incredible adult. Bailey is looking for a family committed to continuing her training and socialization, including her in their adventures, and loving her for the rest of her life.

Bailey is currently fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available for adoption around the country. Her $600 adoption fee includes the cost of transport.
