*****COURTESY POST — Meet Cody! *****
Cody is an almost 5-year-old German Shepherd who is goofy, clumsy, a little clueless, and completely lovable!
Cody’s greatest passion in life is simple: THE BALL. Throw the ball, and you’ve made his entire day. Catching it is his favorite thing in the world, and he will happily remind you that there’s really no reason you should ever stop throwing it. Walks are okay, too, but Cody has noticed that walks generally don’t involve someone repeatedly throwing a ball for him, so naturally they rank a little lower on his list.
At around 90 pounds, Cody is carrying a few extra pounds and would benefit from a family committed to helping him reach and maintain a healthier weight. Fortunately, his love of fetch should make staying active a whole lot more fun! Regular exercise, plenty of ball time, and appropriate nutrition will help this handsome guy look and feel his best.
When there isn’t a ball involved, Cody’s second favorite activity is being as close to his person as physically possible. Personal space? He’s never heard of it. In Cody’s mind, he’s approximately 10 pounds and absolutely belongs in your lap. If you’re sitting down instead of throwing his ball, he’ll happily assume that means your lap is available for snuggling.
Like most German Shepherds, Cody bonds deeply and loves hard and would thrive with someone who appreciates a big, affectionate, goofy dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing. He truly has a Scooby Doo personality! Because of Cody’s size, enthusiasm, and complete lack of awareness that he’s a 90-pound dog, he would do best in a home without small dogs, cats or children under 12.
If you’ve been looking for a big, goofy German Shepherd with endless affection, absolutely no concept of personal space, and an obsession with playing ball, Cody might just be your guy! Cody is housetrained, crate trained, neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines. He is ready to work his way into your heart and home!
*** PLEASE NOTE: Cody’s rehoming will be handled directly by his current owner; however, his adoption fee will be donated to Red Barn Rescue. Email shelby@redbarnrescue.com if you have any questions or would like to schedule a meeting with Cody. ***
