*****COURTESY POST — Meet Bea! *****
Bea is an almost 5-year-old German Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger appreciation for the comfortable life!
If you’re looking for a dog who wants to spend every weekend conquering hiking trails, Bea would respectfully like you to keep looking. This girl is much more interested in lounging with her people, enjoying a good brushing session, and claiming the best spot near the AC vent.
Bea absolutely loves being brushed and is always happy to settle in for a movie — provided she gets one of the best seats in the house, of course. She’s a bit of a diva, and that’s all part of her charm!
At around 100 pounds, Bea is currently carrying some extra weight, so her ideal family will be committed to helping her work toward a healthier weight through appropriate nutrition and gradually increasing her activity. She may never be an aspiring athlete, but regular walks and a healthier routine will help this beautiful girl feel her best for years to come.
Bea does well with other dogs, although she isn’t always aware of just how big she is! Because of her size and enthusiasm, she would likely do best without cats, very small dogs or children under 12.
She knows basic commands but could use a refresher and would benefit from a family willing to continue working with her. Walks may take a little persuasion right now, but with patience, consistency, and some positive encouragement, we think Bea can learn to appreciate getting out and about a little more to stay active and work on her figure.
If you have room in your heart — and maybe on your couch — for a big, beautiful German Shepherd with plenty of personality, Bea may be your girl! Bea is housetrained, crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines. She's ready to start Chapter 2 of her life with a new family!
*** PLEASE NOTE: Bea’s rehoming will be handled directly by her current owner; however, her adoption fee will be donated to Red Barn Rescue. Email shelby@redbarnrescue.com if you have any questions or would like to schedule a meeting with Bea. ***
