Meet Mama Kara!

Mama Kara is a sweet shepherd mix who is ready to trade her mama duties for a life of being someone’s beloved best girl. She’s a young girl, only around 2 years old, and came into rescue with a litter hence the name ‘mama’.

She’s been wonderful with other dogs, is good with young children, and gets along with cats — although she will occasionally remind the resident kitty that a good game of chase is always an option.

Kara can be a little shy when there are lots of people around, and when things get a bit overwhelming, she has no problem heading upstairs to bed for some quiet time. She’s perfectly content snoozing on a comfy dog bed and, so far, hasn’t even felt the need to claim the couch!

Kara loves running around her fenced yard or simply stretching out in the sunshine, and she is already house trained. Her leash skills still need some work, but she doesn’t fight the leash and is willing to learn. She did go through a hip surgery with the rescue to help her feel her best, and has recovered well when she no longer has to be in pain.

At the end of the day, Mama Kara is just a really, really good girl. She’s sweet, gentle, easygoing, and ready for a family who will give her the love and security she deserves.
