Meet Freya, an approx. 2-3 year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing 52 pounds (as of 7/1/26). This sweet soul was found a stray in dire shape, wanerding the streets of Massachusetts. Her previous shelter wanted to euthanize her, but she's grateful to have another shot at life where she can hopefully spend the rest of her days getting all the love from you!

We know very little about Freya as we've only had her for a short time, but she's a gentle girl who's desperately looking for a home where she can be herself and taken care of. Is that too much to ask? She's adapted very quickly to different environments and takes well to strangers. She's also met different aged children and did well!

When Freya's not pondering the meaning of life, she loves playing with her squeaky toys and cuddling on the couch which is really the best way to spend your day! She's met several other dogs and got along with them, but hasn't been exposed to cats yet. A home where she's living the single dog life may be ideal. More cuddles for her! She's done well on a leash and crate. She hasn't had accidents, but she hopes you'll still have patience with her as she adjusts to potty training at your home.

MEDICAL DISCLOSURE: Freya has a UTI and is currently under treatment. She might possibly have open pyometra but is undergoing a vet assessment.

Freya is ready to leave her rough past behind! She hopes you'll take her home!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Freya, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
