DESCRIPTION
Troy (A120826) is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix who weighed 81.8 pounds on intake! 05/09/26 Troy arrived back at the shelter as a stray and was not picked up by his most recent owner. We would like to emphasize the importance of keeping Troy contained: leash walks, secure tie out, 6-sided kennel, supervised play time within a fenced area. If you are interested in meeting Troy, please give us a call! 03/03/26 This goofy energetic boy is Troy! Troy was surrendered to the shelter after arriving as a stray. He has a history of running at large and is looking for a home that can keep him safely contained. Troy should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced in yard. We do not know if Troy has a history with children or other animals in a home setting. It is important to ensure you make appropriate introductions to help set him up for success. His most recent finder did state that Troy was well-behaved while in their care, but is quite the puller. He would highly benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. Troy is looking for an active home that can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated. If you are looking for an adventure buddy and think that Troy could be the one for you, please let us know!
ABOUT: GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG DOG BREED
The German Shepherd Dog, known for its intelligence, loyalty, and versatility, is a popular and highly regarded breed worldwide. This breed excels in various roles such as police work, search and rescue, and assistance for individuals with disabilities. German Shepherd Dogs are strong, agile, and confident with a distinctive double coat that can be straight or wavy. Their character is marked by courage, loyalty, and a strong work ethic, making them ideal companions and protectors for families and professionals alike.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
