DESCRIPTION
Tucker (A141716) is a 6-year-old staffy mix who weighed over 50 lbs at intake! 04/11/26 This handsome guy is Tucker, aka Mr. Tuckerton! Tucker is looking to be the only man in your life. He previously lived with a woman, who adopted him when she was a young adult. When the now-husband came along, Tucker was polite and affectionate with him to his face but would chew up his things behind his back. Tucker was also said to not like other male dogs. He does well with female dogs, however. Tucker was described as a sweet, affectionate and loving dog. He has been known to go after cats and other small animals, so we recommend he go to a home without cats, birds or other small animals. Tucker was said to know some basic commands, such as sit, lay down and come here. He is said to be kennel trained and housebroken and to ride well in the car. The ideal home for Tucker would be one where he has his human all to himself. If you think that home could be with you, please give the shelter a call!
ABOUT: AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER DOG BREED
The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
