Meet our lovable goofball Dean Tollie, a 2 year-old/10 month German Shepherd/Lab mix, weighing 50 pounds (as of 1/26/26)! He's from our wonderful Tollie litter from Mississippi and his mom and siblings were all adopted EXCEPT for him! How rude! Dean isn't deterred though! He knows a special family is on the horizon for him! It's like they always say, you gotta save THE BEST for last!

Dean has been on our website for over 2 years now and we are shocked! Not only is he the perfect addition to any home, you'll never stop smiling with this fun boy around! (I mean, look at his picture! How can you not laugh?)

Dean's a sweetie with a heart of gold who's prepping for his Netflix Special because he lives to entertain his people. So get ready for that VIP pass, baby! Dogs, cats and kiddos alike will fall in love with him and funny antics. Even your moody teen will fall in love with Dean (and your teen barely loves you!) This boy has been in shelter for so long and he can't wait for the day he can brag to his siblings how he FINALLY got the home of his dreams!

As of 1/26/26, his foster shares: "Dean is a big goofball. Like a BIG GOOF!! He is high energy. He is with cats daily but these cats are very dog savvy. Loves dogs and people. He will walk on a leash but pulls occasionally. Enjoys rides. House and crate trained. Sleeps in the bed. He is not crated much."

Still not convinced by Dean? Well, we've got more reviews! His foster previously said: "Dean Tollie is all boy! He just wants to have some fun! These boy is energetic and playful and will need a family that's active and committed to their exercise and training. But he's at a great age to learn. He does so well with all the other dogs here, loves meeting all people, and has spent time around kids and does well very well with them. He's been around cats in rescue and done fine, but tends to chase tiny creatures outdoors so we don't suggest any little critters in your home with him! Dean is handsome, friendly, and just looking for the right family to be a part of and bring all their joy to! Help us make their New Year's dreams come true and not spend any more time in southern rescue. He deserves a family of his very own - and you deserve a dog as sweet as Dean!"

Dean is the best boy anyone could have! Bring him to your home today!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Dean Tollie, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $399] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
