Meet our Macie girl, a 10-month-old (4/27) Norfolk terrier/Parsons Jack Russell terrier mix, weighing about 9.4 pounds (as of 12/22/25). This sweet soul is a special needs girl from Mississippi who was surrendered to us already having paralyzed hind limbs. Luckily, there doesn't appear to be any trauma, and this girl keeps it moving (literally) using her impressive upper body strength! She's a trooper! Macie's looking for a home that'll give her some extra TLC as she works on rebuilding her muscle mass. Get ready for lots of sweet kisses every day!

Days with Macie will be filled with lots of love and giant puppy dog eyes staring into your soul. Seriously, have you seen her gorgeous eyes?! You can get lost in them for days! Not only is Macie sweet, cuddly and a joy to be around, but this girl perseveres through and through. And if she ever needs anything, she's more than happy to tell you! You might as well call yourself the Dog Whisperer!

Macie has lived in a house with other dogs and even enjoys playing rough with dogs twice her size! She's also been exposed to cats! Macie doesn't experience with kids yet, but she's excited to learn more and give them a chance (as long they're gentle!) She loves sucking on ice cubes and cuddling with her humans who also suck on ice cubes.

While Macie can potty on her own and knows when to go, she will need some extra patience from her family as she gets a handle on potty training. Macie has also been fine with diapers, so that's an option as well! Right now, we're helping her slowly rebuild her muscle mass with a wheelchair and with enough love and support, she'll be zooming around your home like Hot Wheels! Macie is looking for an awesome and understanding fur-ever home, hopefully that'll be with you!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Macie you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $395] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
