Meet Smeef!
Smeef is a 3 year-old, 20-pound French Bulldog mix who came to Dogworks after being rescued from a puppy mill. She is now learning what it’s like to be a loved and spoiled dog, and she is definitely enjoying the good life!
Smeef is an outgoing, loving girl who absolutely loves everyone she meets. Her favorite place is curled up on the couch with her people, although she also enjoys playing chase with the other dogs in her foster home. She gets along well with both dogs and cats and would love having another dog around to keep her company and play with.
Smeef is definitely more of a couch potato than a marathon runner. Because of her breathing, long walks can be difficult for her, and she does best with a cooler lifestyle. Her family will need to avoid walks when temperatures are over 80 degrees and be mindful of the heat.
Smeef is still working on some things. She is not yet potty trained, so her foster family uses pee pads, and her new family will need to continue working with her on this. She also struggles with separation anxiety. When left alone, she needs to be safely crated because she may scratch at doors, and she will bark while in her crate. She can also get pretty excited when her people come home and may jump up to greet them.
Smeef can be a little possessive of toys with other dogs, so her family will need to be willing to manage toys appropriately and continue helping her learn good manners.
She doesn’t require a fenced yard and is already used to walking on a leash. She would do best with a family who understands that she has some things to learn but is willing to give her the patience, consistency, and love she needs to continue blossoming.
If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate little couch companion who would love nothing more than to snuggle up beside you, Smeef may be your girl!
Her adoption fee is $350.
She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro chipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
