The great thing about Cody? Pretty much nothing phases this guy! He's perfectly content taking a nap on the biggest dog bed while life keeps moving at a much faster and louder pace. Sure he adores his humans, but he really likes napping, too. :-)
Cody came as a breeder release and is currently 6.5 years old and 22.5lbs of Frenchie steel! This guy has grown up in a loud, chaotic kennel in a concrete run and somehow he's managed to remain an easygoing, adaptable French Bulldog! Cody absolutely loves humans! He's a gentle little man and it melts our hearts to see his whole butt wiggle and his ears go back when he realizes that someone wants to give him all the attention! He hasn't gotten much of that most of his life. When he's not napping, he likes to cruise right behind his person and make sure that no extra help is needed. He keeps a close, but mellow eye on the happenings.
Cody does phenomenally with other dogs and coexists with all kinds in his foster home! He's pretty relaxed about what goes on and hasn't quite figured out how to socialize with his kind yet, but every once in awhile he'll join the chase or Frenchie hop when they all run by. Cody will make a great companion for other dogs and we do think with time and proper engagement, Cody will eventually love playing with a canine friend. Cody does well with kitties, too and really could care less how many are jumping around him. He does love a good squeaky or stuffie toy and loves to run after them...you just might end up going to pick it up yourself. :-) Cody does have a small fetish with towels and clothes on the ground. He tends to like to shred them, a habit we believe came from boredom sitting in a kennel. With time and redirection, we do think Cody will eventually learn that's not as fun as it looks. He already is picking his toys over towels more frequently!
Cody is a very gentle guy! He does not like to be in trouble or have his humans upset with him. He listens well and is doing great with potty training. His biggest issue is marking but we know that neutering will help with that immensely. He does not have any poop accidents in the house and goes outside on his own. He is also very food motivated, which has been an easy way to help build his confidence and establish consistency. Cody quickly realized that being confined isn't something he wants to do anymore and the crate causes some anxiety. The only time we've heard Cody bark or do anything loudly besides breathe, is when he's been crated alone. Cody eats his meals in his crate, but otherwise is left out. He is doing very well being in a smaller space of his foster's home when they are gone and sleeps in a doggy bed next to his foster at night. Cody is truly attached to his people, but he's not a dog that flaunts it. It's a quiet kind of connection that we find so sweet and endearing. If you want an in your face kind of obsession, Cody isn't that guy but he'll be sleeping right behind you while you work or next to you snoring when you wake up in the morning. Cody still has so many incredible years left to learn about how amazing and adventurous life can be! He deserves a home who will spoil him and obsess over that perfect smoosh face!
Cody's adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, vaccines, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
