Jerry McGuire - Labradoodle Dog for Adoption in Murphysboro, Illinois

Jerry McGuire came to us after being found on the side of the road. Whether he was dumped or on the run, we don’t know. Jerry was in rough shape. He was matted, skinny, and absolutely covered in ticks. He had an odd way of walking, and we feared the worst of a major injury to his hips/spine. Thankfully, after taking radiographs and further evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon, we were relieved to find Jerry had no significant injuries or deformities! His odd gait was a result of not having enough muscle in his hind end.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve watched Jerry transform. He’s gained muscle, and moves like any normal dog now! We’re not sure what Jerry’s past holds, but we do know his future is nothing but bright.

We’re estimating Jerry is about 6 years old, but you’d never know it. Jerry has shown us he’s a bouncy, happy, goof ball just looking to have a good time. He’s yet to meet anyone he doesn’t immediately love, whether they’re a cat, dog, kid, or even the mail carrier. He’d play fetch all day long if you let him, bouncing around like a puppy when he chases his favorite toy. He adores going for walks to see all there is to enjoy in the world. His favorite spot though? By your side. He’s a 50lb shadow, making sure you’ll never feel lonely again.

He’s phenomenal in his crate, though he can be left out and he’ll keep careful watch over the house while you’re gone. He’s fully potty trained, knows his basic commands, and wants to please.

Jerry is so ready to meet his forever family, wanting to fit in to their lives like a missing puzzle piece.
