Meet Osito—which means “little bear,” a name that fits his compact 28 lb size and soft, teddy bear look. And one thing you can’t miss—his adorable underbite. Sometimes his lips get stuck in the funniest way, and it’s just part of his charm.

Osito is about 1–2 years old and came to us after his family had to surrender him when they couldn’t find dog-friendly housing. He spent the last month in a busy shelter, which was a lot for him, and he’s now learning how to decompress and feel safe again.

He’s looking for a home that understands he’s been through a big transition and will need patience, structure, and kindness as he settles in. Osito is a vocal guy with a lot to say—he’ll “talk back” and let you know how he’s feeling, so his future family should be ready for a dog with personality and opinions.

Osito has been incredibly friendly with everyone he’s met. He gets along great with other dogs and has even met cats—he was curious and playful, and with slow introductions, we believe he could live with them.

Right now, he’s being fostered on a farm in Blairstown, NJ, surrounded by animals and enjoying the quieter side of life.

Osito is a really good dog who just needs someone willing to give him consistency and a true sense of home. He’s been moved around more than he should have, and we’d love for his next stop to be his last.
