Meet Daphne ❤️

Daphne is the quiet leader of her little family.

When this litter of 5 was rescued, Daphne naturally stepped into the role of protector and decision-maker for her siblings. The other puppies constantly looked to her for direction, reassurance, and cues on how to respond to the world around them. For such a young puppy, that is a lot of responsibility to carry.

What makes Daphne so special is that underneath that protective nature is an incredibly thoughtful, sensitive, and intelligent puppy who simply needed someone to show her she no longer had to manage everything herself.

At Upshot Dog Rescue, we work very intentionally with puppies like Daphne. Instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to continue shaping her decisions, we stepped in with structure, routine, calm leadership, and confidence-building exercises that helped her finally relax and just be a puppy.

And now? We are watching her blossom beautifully.

Every single day Daphne becomes softer, more playful, more curious, and more trusting. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through in such a rewarding way. She loves the comfort of routine, responds beautifully to calm guidance, and gains confidence from the dogs around her.

Daphne would thrive in a home with another confident, balanced dog who can continue helping guide her while also allowing her to simply enjoy being young, playful, and carefree. She does not need to lead — she needs people and dogs who help her feel safe enough not to.

She is going to make an incredibly deep and meaningful companion for the family willing to continue helping her build confidence with patience, structure, and love.
