Sly may have started out as a bit of a mystery man, but these days this 5-year-old Chihuahua mix is looking less “survival mode” and more “small-town celebrity who finally found his people.” At 18 pounds, Sly has traded his former skeleton aesthetic for a much healthier glow-up, and honestly? He wears it well.
For a while, Sly was out there living life solo, relying on his street smarts and determination to get by. That independent streak still shows up in little ways—he likes to take a moment to size things up before diving in—but once he decides you’re safe, you start to see the softer side underneath all that careful observation.
And that side is fun. Sly absolutely loves other dogs and lights up when he has canine friends to play with. Toys are also high on his list of priorities, right alongside walks, snacks, and continuing to enjoy the fact that he no longer has to fend for himself. He approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who knows how good it feels to finally relax and enjoy being cared for.
On walks, Sly is all in. Exploring the neighborhood, checking out the latest smells, getting those little legs moving—this guy is ready to go. It’s like he spent so long surviving that now he’s fully committed to thriving.
There’s something incredibly rewarding about earning Sly’s trust. He doesn’t throw his heart around recklessly, which just makes it mean more when he chooses to share it with you. Once you’re in, you’re in.
Sly is already neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative on his 4DX for heartworm and tick-borne disease, so he’s fully ready for his next chapter.
If you’re looking for a resilient little companion with a playful spirit, a thoughtful heart, and a well-earned appreciation for the good life, Sly is ready to sneak right into your heart—and stay there.
