Teddy is a gentle soul who’s still figuring out that the world can be a safe place.

He’s a medium-energy boy who can be timid at first, and handling makes him a little unsure. Teddy is learning, slowly but surely, that people aren’t so scary. With patience and a calm approach, he starts to settle in—and once he trusts you, he bonds quickly.

On leash, Teddy pulls moderately, mostly because he can feel unsure of new surroundings. He would do best in a home willing to give him a slow introduction and let him move at his own pace. He takes treats very gently and has shown zero issues around food.

Right now, Teddy is still too nervous to show interest in toys, and we’re not even sure if he knows what toys are yet. He came to us with two other dogs who are also here at the shelter. We’ll be placing him in playgroup soon so we can learn more about how he does with other dogs and update his bio after that. At this time, Teddy will need a cat-free home.

Teddy is also getting the care he needs. He will be neutered and will receive a dental procedure after we found that his teeth are in rough shape. The total cost of Teddy’s medical care is $1,560.
