Meet Buba – The Dapper Little Gentleman Who Sees With His Heart 🖤🤎🐾
Nickname: The Velvet Tux Explorer
Breed: Dachshund Mix (with a splash of mystery—maybe a little Corgi or Bernese flair?)
Age: 8 years
Weight: 21 lbs
Currently Residing: Lake Geneva, WI
Buba’s Story
Buba’s world changed when one of his beloved owners passed away, leaving his remaining family member unable to care for him. Despite the loss, Buba has held onto what matters most—his deep love for people. Transported from Tennessee to Wisconsin, he’s now safe in foster care, quietly proving that even without sight, he navigates life with trust, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.
Personality & Fun Facts
Activity Level: Low — a professional relaxer with occasional exploratory missions
Fun Fact: Buba may be blind, but don’t tell him that. His other senses are so finely tuned, he maps out spaces like a tiny, furry GPS.
Friendly With: Men, women, and kids of all ages — a gentle soul through and through
Dog Social Style: Prefers calm, respectful dog friends; a slow introduction is his love language
Sleep Style: Snuggled in bed with his humans, because proximity = happiness
Bark-o-Meter: 5/10 — he’ll announce visitors, then return to his regularly scheduled lounging
Shedding Meter: 6/10 — a fair trade for that gorgeous, multi-colored coat
Buba’s Preferences
Meals: Currently on a culinary journey… but chicken and rice is a strong front-runner
Favorite Snack: Still under review, but affection is always #1
Fashion: Formal wear, but make it fluffy — his natural tuxedo coat does most of the work
Signature Look: Black, rust, and charm — effortlessly dressed for any occasion
Favorite Season: Fall — crisp air, cozy vibes, and perfect sniffing weather
Walk-Out Song: “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts 🎵 — because Buba is nothing if not devoted
Special Notes
Vision: Buba has cataracts and is blind, but he adapts beautifully with consistency and a little guidance. Once he learns his surroundings, he moves with surprising confidence.
Medical: Recently had a dental (with extractions) and is finishing a short course of Carprofen. Otherwise healthy and just on standard preventatives.
Likes & Dislikes
Loves: His people (his absolute favorite thing), gentle companionship, soft beds, and giving kisses
Hobby: Following his humans from room to room like a loyal little shadow
Not a Fan Of: Being crated — he prefers the freedom to lounge and wait for you in comfort
Behavior & Training
Buba is fully housebroken and trustworthy in the home. He does experience some separation anxiety, which makes sense given all the change he’s been through—he just really loves his people and feels safest near them.
Why Buba is Special
Buba is the definition of quiet devotion. He doesn’t need perfect vision to see what matters—love, safety, and connection. He’ll gently follow you through life, offering soft kisses, warm snuggles, and a calming presence that makes everything feel a little steadier.
And that coat? It’s a whole moment. Like he woke up already dressed for a black-tie event and decided to keep things low-key anyway.
Buba isn’t looking for a fast-paced home—he’s looking for a kind one. A patient, loving place where he can learn the layout, trust his surroundings, and be someone’s constant companion.
If you’ve got a soft spot for underdogs (literally), Buba might just be your perfect match. 🖤
