SKEETER - Dachshund and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption
SKEETER
Dachshund, Mixed Breed
August 20th
male, small, young
DESCRIPTION
Meet Skeeter, a 1-year-old Dachshund mix with the sweetest soul! This handsome little boy may be a bit unsure of himself at first, but once he builds up his confidence, his gentle and loving personality begins to shine. Skeeter is looking for someone who understands that the best relationships are built with patience, kindness, and trust.
Skeeter would do well in a home with older kids who can give him the space and understanding he needs as he settles in. He may take a little time to feel comfortable, but once he knows he is safe, you’ll see what a truly special boy he is. He doesn’t need someone to rush him; he needs someone willing to walk at his pace and remind him every day that he is loved.
One of Skeeter’s most endearing quirks comes out when he’s on a walk. Instead of pulling ahead or trying to lead the way, this sweet boy wants to walk behind you. It’s almost as if he’s saying, “You go first, I’ll follow.” He’s looking for someone he can trust to show him the way and help him feel brave as he explores the world.
You could be this baby boy’s guardian angel. Skeeter doesn’t need perfection—he needs patience, reassurance, and someone who will believe in him while he learns to believe in himself. If you’re ready to give a sweet, sensitive boy the safe and loving home he deserves, Skeeter may be waiting just for you. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is $300
ABOUT: DACHSHUND DOG BREED
The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
