DESCRIPTION
Meet Mya Mya is a 3-year-old pittie who is just now getting the chance to learn what it means to simply be a dog. She spent most of her life living outdoors and came to us after being found at an abandoned home in pretty rough conditions. Despite everything she’s been through, Mya is incredibly sweet, gentle, and calm. She can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her a little time and you’ll quickly see what a love bug she really is. Mya is a pretty low-key girl who isn’t asking for much — a comfy bed, some kindness, good snacks, and someone willing to show her the ropes. She’s learning basic commands and how to walk nicely on a leash, and because she is very food motivated, she’s proving to be a pretty willing student. There are still a lot of normal “dog things” that are new to Mya, and it’s honestly pretty special watching her figure them out. She just needs a patient person who will give her the time and encouragement she deserves. One thing Mya has discovered that she really loves? Playing with other dogs! She enjoys having canine friends around and is happy to get a little playful when the opportunity arises. She has also shown some interest in cats, so supervision around feline friends is recommended. Mya is also heartworm positive and is currently receiving treatment. She’s being well cared for while she gets through treatment, and we’re hopeful that this is just one more hurdle on her way to the happy, healthy life she deserves. Mya may not have had the easiest start, but she is more than ready for the soft landing she’s always deserved. We would love nothing more than to see this sweet girl finally learn what it feels like to be someone’s dog — with a comfy bed, a loving family, some doggy playtime, and all the kindness she’s been missing. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is SPONSORED!
