Meet Malcolm

Malcolm is a 10-year-old neutered male long-haired shaded red Dachshund who is looking for a very special forever home alongside his mom, Beckett Becky. Malcolm and Becky are a deeply bonded mother-and-son pair who love spending time together, cuddling in their bed, and staying close to their people. Because of their strong bond, Malcolm and Becky must be adopted together.

Malcolm is a sweet boy who loves being outside and exploring the yard with his mom. He enjoys sniffing around, doing a little digging, and keeping a close watch on the squirrels. He is house-trained, comes when called, and takes treats very gently. Malcolm loves attention and cuddles and is happiest when he can be near his people and his mom.

When Malcolm first arrived in his foster home, he was shy, anxious, and very vocal around unfamiliar situations. After having time to settle in and decompress with Becky by his side, he became much more comfortable and peaceful. He has shown that he does best when given time, patience, and the security of having Becky with him.

Malcolm and Becky would love a home with a secure fenced yard where they can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. They can be vocal when greeting new people, seeing other dogs or people on walks, or spotting something exciting outside, so a home without shared walls would be best. A person or family who isn't away for long stretches and enjoys having two cuddle buddies nearby would be ideal.

Malcolm has found comfort and confidence in having his mom by his side, and we're looking for a family who will give this special pair the chance to spend their golden years together. Two Dachshunds, double the love!
