Meet Beckett ("Becky")
Beckett, affectionately known as Becky, is an 11-year-old spayed female long-haired English Cream Dachshund with a sweet personality and a very special companion—her son, Malcolm. These two have spent their lives together and are a truly bonded pair, so Becky and Malcolm must be adopted together.
Becky is a loving girl who enjoys being outside, exploring the yard, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood squirrels. She and Malcolm may get quite vocal when those squirrels appear, so her ideal home is one that doesn't mind a little Dachshund enthusiasm! She is house-trained, comes when called, and takes treats very gently. Becky enjoys cuddling, being petted, and staying close to her people, and she and Malcolm can often be found curled up together in their bed.
Becky is adaptable and has done well with changes in routine. She enjoys having access to a fenced yard where she can explore, sniff, and keep herself entertained. She has shown some interest in exploring beyond the fence, so a secure fenced yard will be important in her new home. On walks, Becky generally walks nicely but can be vocal when she sees people or other dogs.
Becky and Malcolm would do best with a person or family who is home much of the time and has plenty of love and attention to give. They would prefer a quiet home without shared walls, such as an apartment, townhome, or patio home, since they can be enthusiastic barkers when greeting visitors or watching the world outside.
Becky is looking for a forever home where she and her son can grow old together. If you have room in your heart for two sweet senior Dachshunds, Becky and Malcolm may be the perfect pair for you!
Becky is currently being fostered in Westminster, Colorado.
Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) has foster families in Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Please check the dogs location before your apply to adopt them. You will need to pick them up. RMDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT THE DOG TO YOU or transport them across state lines.
The Colorado Department of Agriculture requires that all dogs entering PACFA-licensed facilities have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Dogs over three months of age must also have proof of a current rabies vaccination, including the vaccination date, manufacturer, and serial number listed on the CVI. Puppies must receive parvovirus and distemper vaccinations at least 14 days before entry.
These PACFA requirements may affect the adoption fee. For questions, please email us at contact@rmdr.org.
