Frodo (Utah, Bonded Pair with Sam) - Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Sandy, Utah

Frodo (currently being fostered in Utah) is a 2-year-old dachshund who's learning to trust again, one day at a time. He arrived anxious and guarded, but with routine and patience, he's blossoming.

Frodo gets genuinely excited in the morning and wags his whole body when he connects with his person. Once he decides you're safe, he snuggles hard. He thrives on calm, predictable routines and does best in a quiet home without sudden movements or loud noises—he's not a party dog, and that's just fine.

Frodo is deeply bonded with his foster big brother Sam, and the two lean on each other. What he needs is a dedicated human or family who's patient, consistent, and ready for full-body snuggles once he's decided you're his.

Medication for anxiety and depression is part of his routine and is working beautifully to help him heal. If you can offer gentleness and stability, this boy will love you with everything he's got.

Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) has foster families in Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Please check the dogs location before your apply to adopt them. You will need to pick them up. RMDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT THE DOG TO YOU or transport them across state lines.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture requires that all dogs entering PACFA-licensed facilities have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Dogs over three months of age must also have proof of a current rabies vaccination, including the vaccination date, manufacturer, and serial number listed on the CVI. Puppies must receive parvovirus and distemper vaccinations at least 14 days before entry.
