Angel - Collie Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Angel is a 2-year-old, 23 pound Collie/Sheltie mix with the softest eyes and a heart that is trying very hard to be brave.

Right now, Angel is very scared. New people and unfamiliar environments can feel overwhelming for her, so she needs slow introductions, patience, and the chance to decompress at her own pace. But there's something incredibly hopeful about Angel: her siblings who have gone into foster homes have adjusted beautifully once they finally had the opportunity to exhale and feel safe.

Angel simply hasn't gotten that chance yet.

Beneath the fear is a very sweet dog who wants comfort, stability, and someone willing to let her bloom in her own time. She doesn't need perfection. She needs softness. A calm home. Gentle reassurance. Someone who understands that trust can grow quietly and still become something extraordinary.

The dogs who take a little longer often end up loving the deepest. Angel feels like one of those dogs.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

The Collie is a graceful and intelligent dog known for their loyalty, gentle nature, and exceptional herding abilities. They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Their keen intuition and strong bond with their owners make them wonderful family pets and reliable working dogs in tasks such as herding livestock or in search and rescue missions.
