Claire. This auburn-haired beauty is a happy go lucky girl. She loves everything--playing, people and other dogs. Don't tell her we said so, but she is... SOLID. She's 30lbs and one of her favorite activities is to position herself right in front of you so you can trip over her. She would be great with an active family with kids. The catch is: Claire is heartworm positive which means she has to undergo treatment. This is something that CSRA/SA pays for, but it has to be done at one of our area vets (meaning she has to stay in the Austin or San Antonio area). The good news is--the several weeks of treatment will be some prime cuddle and bonding time (no activities that will raise her heart rate). Claire is still a young 'un at 2 years old is still learning that her owner will indeed come back but cries when you are out of sight. Our trusty security cameras tell us that when left home alone she will cry and whine for about 30 minutes before she calms down which is probably not ideal for folks who have shared walls and neighbors who are hearing. . She is crate trained, but doesn't necessarily like it. She would much prefer to sleep next to you in bed.
