Frankie Jane - Cocker Spaniel Dog for Adoption in Austin, Texas

This is Frankie Jane. Frankie Janes has been with us for a couple of months now, but this is the first time you're meeting her--why? When she first came to us, she had some injuries that were pretty tough to look at. We don't know exactly what happened to her when she was out on the streets, but suffice it to say it took a few weeks for her skin to heal. Added to that is Frankie Jane's pretty over the top mistrust of strangers. Give her 24 hours (much less if you come armed with treats) and she will be your fiercest most loyal buddy/bodyguard who will snuggle all day long, but hoo boy, first meetings can be a little ruff--she needs plenty of space and the option of approaching you on her own terms. This makes taking her to a Meet and Greet where there's lots of busy dogs and people kind of a nightmare for her. She's much more content just staying at home--she's got some Netflix shows she's getting pretty into these days.
Around the house, she's quiet, super well-mannered, loving to her people and so smart. She watches you with those gorgeous brown eyes to see what you'd like for her to do. Despite coming from the streets, she got potty training down in about a day and never has a "whoops should I be chewing this?" moment. She's a dream buddy for someone who is also a homebody, who wouldn't expect her to go to bars or restaurants or Home Depot or any of those places where she'd be expected to be around lots of folks she doesn't know. She's EXCELLENT at quiet, unassuming companionship and we know her perfect person is out there.
Frankie is long and low and solid--probably some corgi or dachshund or maybe even some bassett hound in there. Her fur is still coming back in from when she had to have much of it shaved down. She is a pretty solid 30lbs and about 2 years old.
