Meet Mija!
At just 4 pounds, Mija is a little dog with a BIG personality and an even bigger story.
Mija is a special-needs Chiweenie who spent her entire life severely neglected and malnourished. Despite everything she has been through, this tiny girl has retained her sweetness, her spirit, and her love of being absolutely spoiled rotten. She truly believes she was born to be a princess—and honestly, we agree.
Mija has some lasting health challenges from her past, including heart problems and cartilage deformities that affect her legs and give her a uniquely adorable appearance. She is a little slower than other dogs, but she gets around and enjoys life on her own terms. She will need a home that can accommodate her physical limitations, including using ramps for stairs.
And Mija has a few very important requirements for her happily-ever-after:
-No children
-No large dogs
-She must be the center of attention in her home.
-Her medical needs must be taken seriously and consistently managed.
-Her physical disabilities must be accommodated.
-She may enjoy living with another very small, submissive dog, but she would also be perfectly happy being an only child.
What Mija does want is a person who will adore her, dote on her, and understand that this little girl deserves to be cherished for the rest of her life.
She LOVES dressing up, being wheeled around like royalty in her stroller, getting spoiled, and generally being treated like the princess she knows she is.
Mija is not looking for just any home. She is looking for HER person.
Because finding the right home matters so much for this special little girl, her adoption process will be intentionally selective. Applicants will be asked to submit photos of their home and tell us why they believe they are the best fit for Mija. Her future family will be chosen based on what is truly in her best interest.
Mija is heartworm negative. She's estimated to be under 5 years, but we aren't fully sure. She's been spayed and had a recent dental. She does have a severe heart murmur so that is something to take into consideration when applying.

Once submitted, we will reach out to approved applicants by phone. We may also suggest other amazing dogs in our care who could be a great fit for your home.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:
This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $550 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
VETTING:
All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
