Meet Taco, an eight-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighing 16.5 pounds.

Taco is a sweet senior gentleman with a heart of gold who's ready to leave his past behind and enjoy the comfort of a loving home.

He came to the shelter with another dog, Weasel, after they were surrendered to animal control from a home with unsanitary living conditions. Although they arrived together, they're doing well in separate kennels and are happy to be adopted into separate homes.

Taco is a friendly, outgoing boy who loves spending time with people. He's especially motivated by treats, making him a fun companion to work with and an eager student for learning new routines. He looks to his people for guidance and is happiest when he knows what's expected of him, making him a wonderful partner for someone looking for a loyal, attentive companion.

As a senior, Taco is looking for a family that understands the extra care that can come with the golden years. He will likely need a dental procedure in the future, along with routine senior veterinary care to help keep him feeling his best. In return, you'll be rewarded with a gentle, loving dog who is ready to soak up all the affection he can get.
