Beefy - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Woolwich, Maine

He may be little but he's got a LOT of personality! Meet Beefy (yes, the name is negotiable once adopted). He's a little guy with a big heart. A chi mix, he's estimated to be about 9 months old. That means that he's still got typical puppy energy and he's going to need a family that's going to give him lots of playtime and daily exercise.

He's learning to walk on leash, so he will need some more practice with leash walking, but at the shelter he waits to potty outside, which indicates that he's potty trained. Pretty impressive for a puppy who is living in the shelter.

We don't know how Beefy came to be in the shelter, but he maintains an upbeat, positive attitude, and loves all the people at the shelter. He hasn't let his stint in the pound get him down- he's also a staff favorite because of his personality.

He is good with others dogs but, at only around 10 lbs, he's a little guy so we will be careful to place him in a home where his small stature will be respected and protected. A home with super young kids wouldn't be the best fit, but older kids who can respect his small stature would be fine. Beefy is currently in AL but we hope to bring him to Maine in early November.
