Pocket Shepherd Alert!
Maple is not only adorable, she has the personality to match. An energetic 1-year-old pup, she LOVES to play with other dogs. She will definitely need a family that can give her daily exercise and play time. She's only about 40 lbs so is much smaller than a typical Shepherd. For a dog that found herself in the shelter, she's got a lot going for her:
She walks well on leash
She waits to potty outside, which indicates that she is potty trained
She is loving and affectionate
She has a few puppy manners that need to be corrected, such as occasionally jumping up, although that may change once she is in a loving home where she gets more one-on-one attention than in the shelter. She also has older puppy energy so, even though she's estimated to be about a year old, her adopters need to be prepared to help her exercise her body and her mind.
Maple is currently in AL but we hope to bring her to Maine in early November.
If you think you might be interested in adopting Maple or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
