Nacho - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Woodstock, Ontario

Meet Nacho

Get ready to fall in love with Nacho, a tiny 6.5 lb Chihuahua mix who will be arriving at our rescue on September 5th from our wonderful rescue partners.

Nacho is approximately 2 years old and was found at a pound before making his way to safety. Like many little Chihuahuas, he can be nippy when he's scared and tends to feel most comfortable with women. But once Nacho gets to know you and realizes he's safe, his true personality comes out, he's a sweet little guy who just wants to feel secure and loved.

Nacho is:
- Low energy
- Good with other dogs
- Crate trained
- Neutered

He has not yet been tested with cats or children, and he is not currently house trained, so his new family will need to be patient and help him learn.

One important note: Nacho did test positive for heartworm, but there is no need to be afraid of this diagnosis! He is already receiving treatment and is on preventative medication. Heartworm is a treatable condition.

Because Nacho can be a flight risk when frightened, his new family will need to take extra precautions with doors, gates, and outdoor time while he adjusts. A calm, secure environment will help him feel safe enough to let his sweet side shine.

This little guy has already had a rough start. Now he needs someone who will give him the time and patience to understand that he is finally safe
