Meet Rosie!

Rosie is an absolute doll! At approximately 8 years old and just 5.5 pounds, this tiny Chihuahua has a huge heart and is ready to find the forever family she deserves.

Rosies journey to our rescue began when she was found as a stray in the parking lot of a Golden Chick restaurant in Lancaster, Texas. She had no identification, and despite efforts to locate her family, no one came forward to claim her. Lancaster Animal Control reached out to Chihuahua Rescue & Transport, and we were happy to welcome Rosie into our program.

Rosie absolutely adores her foster family and loves being part of the action. Dont let her age fool you—she has wonderful energy and enjoys playing with the younger dogs in her foster home. Rosie enjoys an active lifestyle but is equally content spending quiet time cuddling with her family. She also has a healthy appetite and is a great eater. While shes missing a few teeth, it doesnt slow her down one bit, and she happily enjoys her meals.

Rosie does have one special need that her future family should be aware of. We believe she suffered an injury that affects her bowel control while shes sleeping (she is fine when she is awake). She will have almost always have a bowel movement in her sleep due to her inability to feel the need to go. She takes inexpensive medications that are administered twice a day. These medications will be for the rest of her life.

The wonderful thing about Rosie is that, aside from this one issue, you would never know she has a special need. She runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life just like any other happy little dog. She gets around beautifully and has a bright, cheerful personality. Rosie is not a fan of being crated and will let you know by barking. Instead, she sleeps peacefully in her own little bed at night, and she does wonderfully with that routine.

Rosie is looking for a compassionate family who will see beyond her special need and appreciate the incredible little dog she truly is. In return, youll gain a loving, joyful companion with a heart full of affection and plenty of happy years still ahead of her.

Rosie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300.00 adoption donation required.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.
