Meet sweet little Bella!

A tiny 7-pound senior chihuahua girl looking for a soft place to land for the rest of her days. Bella recently came to rescue after her owner faced homelessness and could no longer provide the medical care she needed. This little lady has clearly been loved, and now she deserves a peaceful forever home where she can be cherished through her golden years.

At 16 years old, Bella is considered a hospice adoption candidate. We know her time may be limited, and we are looking for a very special adopter who understands that Bella is simply seeking comfort, love, and security for whatever time she has left.

Bella is a gentle, easygoing girl who loves the simple things in life — soft blankets, cozy beds, slow walks, and kind people who talk sweetly to her. Her little tail wags when you give her attention, and while she can be shy at first, she warms up into an incredibly loving companion.

Like many senior dogs, Bella has both restful days and brighter, more active days. Some days she’s perfectly content snoozing in her comfy dog bed most of the afternoon, while other days she enjoys being up and about — looking out the door, sniffing around the house and yard, and going for leisurely walks. She absolutely loves her walks and happily strolls along on a harness, taking her time to sniff the grass and enjoy the fresh air.

Bella appears to do well going potty outside and has also done wonderfully using pee pads indoors, making her a very easy little house companion. She enjoys being held and close to her people, but she also has an independent side and is happy relaxing quietly on her own nearby. She rides nicely in the car and overall has a calm, peaceful personality.

Bella can coexist just fine with other dogs, but because of her age and gentle nature, we feel she would do best with another calm, respectful senior or low-energy dog. She’s relaxed around other dogs and simply wants a peaceful environment.

Bella came to us unspayed, and due to her advanced age, our veterinarian does not recommend putting her through surgery. She also has very few teeth remaining, so she will need wet food and soft meals only.

She does not love being left alone for long periods, so a home where someone is around often would be ideal. Bella will also be seeing our veterinarian this week for a full evaluation, so we expect to learn more about her overall medical needs soon and will update her profile as we know more.

Bella is not looking for perfection or adventure — she is simply looking for comfort, compassion, and a forever person willing to give a tiny senior dog the love and dignity she deserves for the rest of her life.
